Grow old disgracefully with me!

Just turned 60 (though most people find that hard to believe), I marked the occasion by abseiling from the top of a church tower in aid of charity. My motto is "Make the most of now". I'm warm, fun-loving, caring, tactile, young at heart, and reasonably fit and slim. Often described as the life and soul of the party and always ready to laugh, I'm a very good listener and can be quiet and reflective. I'm planning to retire quite soon and have cut down to a three-day week in order to adjust gradually. I'm really looking forward to having lots of time to enjoy life. I'm open to new things and last summer clocked up three 'firsts': I flew in a glider, rode pillion on a motor-cycle (in actual fact a sports bike that reached 95mph!), and went sailing. I enjoy walking and am an active member of my local Ramblers group. (I spent Easter on a walking holiday in southern Italy.) I do a weekly yoga class to improve strength and suppleness, and I sing in a community choir. I enjoy travelling and there are many places in this and other countries that I should like to see. I've long wanted to visit New Zealand, Canada and Petra, for example. But it's not nearly so much fun doing and seeing things on your own as it is sharing them with someone special.

My ideal partner is determined to "Live well, laugh often, love much". I'm hoping to find an intelligent, caring and dependable man who will enjoy long walks in the fresh air, holding hands, seeing wonderful scenery and architecture all over the world, listening to music (and R4 a lot of the time!), sharing silly jokes, going to a concert, play or film, cooking meals together and dining out occasionally, cuddling up to watch a DVD with a glass of wine or two - in short, sharing the good things of life (and whatever else it has to throw at us), laughing a lot along the way and generally growing old disgracefully with me.
